PAF rued deplorable conditions of Tourism assets in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Dec 15: President Public Awareness Front (PAF) Kishtwar, Shakir Sidiqui in a press statement issued here today has reminded Chief Minister,Ms Mehbooba Mufti of the intention with which her late father Mufti Mohd Syed had established Kishtwar Development Authority.
Sidiqui expressed serious anguish over the failure of KDA to achieve its targets and rued the deplorable conditions of the assets created by the Tourism Development Authority added that KDA had been established for promoting tourism and explore ways and means to make this industry flourish, beside to generate employment; but nothing of sort has been achieved. He further said that the present infrastructure of KDA is in shamble condition as it lacks maintenance. He said that no watch and ward staff has been engaged for the maintenance of these assets of the KDA which is a matter of serious concern. He told that huge loss is being incurred to the state due to this lackadaisical approach of the authorities at the helm of affairs.
Divulging further Sidiqui said that flood lights that were installed around parade ground Kishtwar have long ceased functioning as there is no provision of maintenance with the department.
He said that he had also taken up the matter with Director General Tourism Farooq Ahmed Shah with the request to look into the issues and concern raised by him and urged Mehbooba Mufti to address this issue on priority so that the dream of Late Mufti Mohd Syed becomes a reality on ground. He said that Director General Tourism assured him that he will look into the issue on priority.
