Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: The people of Kishtwar are angry over continuous silence of the local legislators over non sanction of Post Graduation courses in Government Degree College Kishtwar.
As per the details available with "Early Times" the government of Jammu and Kashmir vide Order No. 89-HE of 2018 introduced various courses in 25 different colleges of the state as well as in the colleges that are constituent Colleges of Cluster University Srinagar.
As per the said order Kashmiri and integrated courses in Urdu and Dogri were introduced in Government Degree College Kishtwar and all the three courses are said to be non job oriented courses at college level.
The angry students inform the "Early Times" that Urdu subject is already in the college while Kashmiri and Dogri had no scope in the District as both the courses had vast potential in Jammu and Srinagar based colleges added that due to lack of legislators will, the Kishtwar University campus is also dying its natural death due to Jammu University Official apathy as well as lack of support from the government which lead to protest by the students few months ago.
They said that students prefer District Universities instead of Kishtwar University Campus.
They said that the government vide another order issued vide No. 88-HE of 2018 introduces Post Graduation courses in 10 different Colleges of the state, mostly those colleges who are already running PG classes in the colleges or in the University Campuses of the Jammu University, but Kishtwar Degree College having student strength of more the 1200 students once again ignored.
They said that Kishtwar District has representation from every political party including MoS Sunil Sharma (BJP), Ghulam Mohammad Saroori (Congress), Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo (NC), Firdous Ahmed Tak (PDP) added that Health Minister Bali Baghat and MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar also belongs from Kishtwar District while MP and MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad also represented the Kishtwar District added that despite having huge representation in both state and center government, Kishtwar Degree College was ignored while sanctioning PG classes and job oriented courses.
The students urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to sanction at least three PG courses, along with BCA and BBA courses in Degree College Kishtwar so that students belongs to this far flung and mountainous District could avail the benefits of quality and job oriented courses at home.
