Irony! Policeman dies while protecting anti-national
2/27/2018 12:29:59 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman losing his life while protecting a separatist Fazal-Haq Qureshi, executive member of Hurriyat Conference led by the dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has once again proved that government by providing security to separatists is playing with the lives of nationalist policemen.
A politician while talking to Early Times said, "It's unfortunate that a Jammu and Kashmir policeman was killed while protecting a person who is affiliated with a group which is anti-national and leaves no stone unturned to propagate the cause of Pakistan in Kashmir."
He said, "There is no difference between the people like Qureshi and the gun wielding terrorists. Both preach sedition and separatism. Why should government provide security to the people who are anti-nationals and support violence and terror?"
A Kashmir watcher said, "It seems J&K government is not learning from the mistakes which it committed in the past. Last year Deputy Superintendent of Police Ayub Pandit was lynched by the supporters of Mirwaiz outside Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. The deceased officer had been asked to remain stationed at Jamia Masjid to ensure that Mirwaiz is protected. Irony is that he was killed by the same people whom he had gone to protect."
The Jammu and Kashmir policeman Farooq Ahmed, who was shot dead by the militants at the residence of Qureshi, died in the line of duty. "Unfortunate part is that he was performing his duty to protect a person who is against India and its democracy," the Kashmir watcher added.
He said, "Attack on a policeman guarding an anti-national should serve as an eye opener for the government and people at the helm should review their decision to provide security cover to anti-nationals and Pak stooges. Why should nationalist policemen die while protecting the people who are threat to the peace and the country?"
