Height of Duplicity: ABVP workers get lathis; BJP ministers enjoy 'time out'
2/27/2018 12:29:41 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: Sunday evening has exposed duplicity and treachery of BJP leadership in general and party ministers in particular. Two simultaneous events were going on Sunday evening.
When BJP leaders and ministers were having a good time activists of Sangh Parivar's student wing ABVP were getting taste of the police's brutal lathicharge and excessive use of forces just a couple of kilometers away from the place where BJP leaders had assembled.
Credible sources said that some BJP ministers were informed about brutal lathicharge on ABVP activists but none of them showed any concern. They rather preferred to enjoy.
None of the BJP ministers showed any concern about excessive use of force on their own students. Students, who were brutally beaten by the police, approached BJP ministers for help but for BJP leaders and ministers the "time out" was more important than students' issue.
Agitating on UIET issue, ABVP activists had gheraoed the Education Minister Altaf Bukhari on Sunday evening inviting Police lathicharge in which several protesters were injured.
Up in arms against the Government move of taking over control of UIET, the agitating students and ABVP activists gheraoed the Education Minister near Teacher Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, when he was going to attend a function there.
As the Minister ignored direct reply to the protesting students' query on the Government decision, the gherao continued amidst slogan shouting till the Police intervened and resorted to lathicharge, in which around eight protesters were injured.
