Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 21: The passenger vehicles, mainly mini-buses and cabs, plying across routes in Sunderbani here, operate without travel documents, the locals have complained.
The commuters accused the public transporters operating on routes like Nohoti, Bambla, Thanda Pani and Devek Hatal in Sunderbani of misbehavior and violation of road safety norms.
The locals said around 200 commercial vehicles operating in the area, don't have requisite travel documents. "Many of the drives don't even have the passenger vehicle license but operate on light vehicle license," said the commuters.
The locals said travel in such vehicles was risky and cause of accidents in the area. They accused the police of taking "hafta" from such transporters at various nakas erected in the area. "Traffic police wakes up only when there's some major accident," the locals said.
The locals have appealed the concerned to look into the matter on priority.
