Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 21: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) legislators are reportedly showing their helplessness before a Minister of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on the issue of getting few kilometres stretch of Airport-RS Pura road, macadamized.
Sources informed Early Times that for the last few years since BJP-PDP came to power, the condition of one lane of Airport-RS Pura road has been turning from bad to worse. "We the residents of Indira Nagar were very much optimistic when Naeem Akhter had taken over the reins of PWD department and we took up the matter of pathetic condition of this road with him over social networking site Twitter", a follower of Minister on Twitter said.
Sharing the tweets and replies given by Minister, he further said that the Minister repeatedly replied and expressed hope that there would be improvement in the condition of road soon. "The Minister also claimed that due to strike in the department, the issue got delayed but work will start soon", he said regretting that after lapse of over one month, there was no improvement in the road's condition.
The local residents claimed that they took up the matter with a legislator of BJP, who during a meeting obliquely expressed his helplessness in the matter. "The BJP legislator claimed that the PDP ministers didn't listen to them. So it is a good effort on part of the public to take up the matter directly with the Minister", the locals who attended the meeting with BJP legislator claimed.
Sources said that the BJP legislators repeatedly took matter of Airport-RS Pura road with concerned quarters, but neither the Minister nor the department officials took them seriously. "The legislators are feeling helpless before the PDP Ministers and in such conditions, how the grievances of Jammu's public will be addressed, is a big question", an insider said.
