Jammu, Apr 26: The people of Marwah filled a written complaint against the former Block Development Officer Marwah Raiz Ahmed in the Chief Minister Grievance cell with the hope that government will order a probe into misappropriation of funds by the said BDO who till few days ago held the charge of three blocks of Marwah Sub Division of Kishtwar District viz Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan.
As per the complaint filed by Ghulam Nabi Lone, Ghulam Qadir Malik, Sajjad Ahmed Ganio, Abdul Wahid Malik and Ghulam Rasool Magrey, all locals of Marwah alleging that the said BDO remains posted in these three blocks for almost two years added that being as DDO, the said BDO works for personal gain by way of corrupt practices, abuse of his official powers, further alleges that no government scheme was physically implemented in letter and spirit in these three blocks during his tenure. Speaking to "Early Times" and as per the complaint, large scale irregularities have been committed in funds CDF/CD Panchayat, MPLAD, 13/14th FC, SBM in these three blocks. They stated that whole family of the BDO who is also a local from Marwah along with his relatives are working in the Rural Development Department and are posted in Marwah block itself holding the charge of higher posts added that the said BDO with the help of his family members, relatives, VLW Ghulam Rasool Lone, MPW Ghulam Hussein Jamal, MPW Bashir Ahmed, MPW Mohammad Ramzan Kumar, MPW Ghulam Mustafa Malik & Yasir Rasheed Lone were indulge in malpractices at behest of the concern BDO. They said that among the relatives and family members, three RDD employees were holding the fake degrees added that the issue was even raised by the unemployed Engineers with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during her Kishtwar public outreach program added that but nothing was done till date despite CM directed Director RDD to submit the fact finding report into the matter.
They said that the said officer on flimsy ground made the appointment of his daughter under SRO-43 in the year 2004 and called for revisiting the said appointment so that genuine unemployed youth could get job opportunity in her place.
They said that huge amount of Rs. 2.95 Crore material cost was allegedly withdrawn in Marwah block on the name of 9 blue eyed persons shown as vendors during his tenure as BDO. As per the compliant, around Rs. 40 lakh were withdrawn on the name of Ghulam Mohammad Malik son of Gander Malik Resident of Pathgam, Rs. 30 lakh on the name of Abdul Razak son of Akbar Mattoo Resident of Zaban Renie, Rs. 35 lakh on the name of Mohammad Hussain son of Ghulam Mustafa Akhoon Resident of Nawapchi, Rs. 70 lakh on the name of Fareed Ahmed son of Ghulam Nabi Akhoon Resident of Chenger, Rs. 50 lakh on the name of Mohammad Iqbal son of Ghulam Ali Akhoon Resident of Chenger, Rs. 20 lakh on the name of Ghulam Ahmed son of Mohammad Rather Resident of Deherna, Rs. 5 lakh on the name of Feroz Ahmed son of Ghulam Ahmed Malik Resident of Qadrena, Rs. 15 lakh on the name of Mohammad Abass son of Ghulam Mohammad Khandey Resident of Nowgam and Rs. 30 lakh on the name of Ghulam Mohammad son of Bahadur Lone Resident of Dehraie Marwah.
The said that the payments made on the name of above mentioned blue eyed persons belongs to the poor job card holders who were denied their legitimate share from this public welfare scheme.
"We just want that government should constitute high level committee to look into the issue-so that poor people of Marwah could get justice" they said.
