GANDOH, Apr 26: A Class 10th student in Bhatoli was beaten up by her class teacher at Government HS Bhatoli in Sub Division Gandoh.
According to locals, a girl student picked up a fight with her classmate and beat her following which the teacher punished her by beating her with a stick. The 16 year-old sustained injuries on her hand and back.
Her family members demanded police officials to book a case against the school administration also, stating that care and protection of the children is the responsibility of the administration.
According to locals, there have been nearly 8 cases of corporal punishment till now this year .Corporal punishment, not only affects students physically but also mentally.
Meanwhile, locals of the area have urged the SDM Gandoh that school teacher's approach to deal with children is not tolerable as despite the corporal punishment is banned, he subjected the children to this inhuman act. |
