Udhampur, Apr 26: Traffic Police official vehicles are causing pollution in Udhampur town.
How can the traffic police fine people for driving vehicles that cause pollution when the departmental vehicles violate the norms?
As per the Supreme Court directions "vehicles without valid pollution control certificates would not be eligible for the annual insurance."
Its needs to be mentioned here that in the Year 2017 a Bench of Justices Madan B. Lokur and Deepak Gupta accepted the recommendations of the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) for mandatory linking of pollution certificates with annual insurance. If The Traffic Police vehicle Udhampur have insurance without Pollution certificate than its Open violation of Supreme court order . Its shows that there is no rule for the Traffic Police as the number plates are not clearly visible. |
