POONCH, Apr 24: In a bizarre incident, a Naib Tehsildar misbehaved with Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ajote area of Poonch district for the movement of latter in the area during lockdown which sent shock waves in the police department.
Sources told Early Times that despite the fact that both the officers are working as frontline warriors during this lockdown but Naib Tehsildar, misbehaved with police officer in total disregard to his duty.
According to sources, the police officer was patrolling in a vehicle in the area of Ajote, when he was stopped by Naib Tehsildar, who was standing at Ajote Bridge Naka and asked him about his movement.
On hearing this, police officer was shocked, despite the fact that he was in uniform and performing his duty in the area, which led to an argument between them.
“But Naib Tehsildar refused to hear the police officer, and ordered his juniors to take photograph of the police officer and his vehicle, in which he was travelling,” they said.
Even the locals of the Ajote area also criticized the behaviour of the Naib Tehsildar by saying that whenever they go to his office for any official work he never pays heed to their problems and speaks harshly with them.
When Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch was contacted, he said that he was verifying the matter and appropriate action will be taken. Meanwhile, Sub Inspector said that he had informed about the incident to SP Farooq Quasar.
He also appealed to DIG Rajouri Poonch to take strict action against the erring Revenue Official.
When contacted, Niab tehsildar, said " We are trying our best to ensure lockdown but police and health officials are violating the rules as they help their close ones to pass from various nakas.
But when we take action against violatets, then police misbehave with us.
