BARAMULLA, Apr 24: At a time when India is fighting as a strong nation with the Coronavirus infection, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Block Development Council (BDC) Narwaw today and congratulated other Sarpanchs for their efforts.
Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO, tweeted that, Sarpanch Iqbal from Baramulla Jammu and Kashmir refers to “respect all, suspect all” mantra to prevent Covid, during interaction with PM Shri Narendra Modi.
According to the details, the Prime Minister Modi lauded the Block Development Chairman (BDC) Narwaw Altaf Ahmad for his endeavors and congratulated him for his work to fight against Covid-19.
Iqbal Ahmad is a Block Development Chairman of Narwaw belt and also BDC district coordinator who had contested the recently held election of BDCs from Gantamulla area and secured highest number of votes in the valley.
According to him, it was need of the hour to put all measures and facilities in place, and fight like a warrior with Covid-19, while they have sanitized their whole block and is on the toes to fight this pandemic, like other people.
“Yes, it is important to respect all and suspect all, and I think this is the only mantra to prevent Covid-19, because we cannot put our society at risk, we don’t know who is infected, so we have to prevent ourselves and for that, we have to stay at home and only then we can remain safe,” said Iqbal Ahmad, while talking to Early Times.
While interacting with Sarpanchs across the country through video conferencing on the Panchayati Raj Day today, PM Modi said Covid-19 pandemic has taught lesson to the entire country to become self-reliant.
“The Corona virus pandemic taught us the biggest lesion to become self-independent,” said the PM.
Lauding the role of countrymen while fighting Covid-19, Modi said, “It is because of efforts of our people that entire world is talking about how India responded to Covid-19 crisis,” adding, “Instead of succumbing to challenges, the countrymen utilized their scanty resources sincerely to give tough challenge to this deadly pandemic.”
He said the nation is moving forward despite of hurdles and the work for safeguarding country and countrymen is on.
