The academic sessions in higher educational institutes and universities according to a recommendation by UGC panel may commence from September instead of July. It also recommends online exam for universities wherever possible.

The panel was constructed to take note of the situation and come up with a solution regarding higher education in India.

One committee was formed to take note of the issues of academic loss and others to study online education and its effects on the education system of India in the time of lockdown due to pandemic.
The committee led by Vice-Chancellor of Haryana University, RC Kuhad was formed to look into the various ways of conducting exams in universities during the lockdown. The committee was also asked to work on an alternate academic calendar for universities.
