EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 10 A virtual meeting of the central body members of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was held here today through video conferencing. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, state chairman JKTF in which various issues of the teaching community of the UT of J&K were discussed.
In the meeting, the members said that there are several issues which are left unresolved since long for the reasons best known to those who are at the helm of affairs which has caused dismay & resentment among the various cadres of the Education Department.
After the threadbare and detailed discussions, Ganesh Khajuria urged upon the Principal Secretary to Govt, School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon to personally look into the long pending just and genuine demands of the teaching community and take the necessary steps to resolve these issues at the earliest. The Forum demanded confirmation of the DPC in favour of those Laboratory Assistants, who were promoted as teachers, so that they can get the benefit of the Teacher Grade which is being denied to them since the last so many years without any fault of theirs.
It requests for the creation of the Posts of Masters under State Plan/Non-Plan scheme after going through the process of rationalisation on the pattern of the Headmaster and Masters of High Schools upgraded under erstwhile RMSA scheme.
Besides raising several other demands, the Forum urged for the early disposal of the pending cases of ReTs, conversion of RReTs to Tr. Gr. II & Tr. Gr. III and release their pending salary without any further delay as they are at the verge of starvation due to the non-payment of their salaries since long.
