Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, May 10: As the lockdown due to COVID-19 continues, the students across the Union Territory of J&K are confined to their homes; however, several educational institutions initiated the process of online classes to fill the gap of classroom teaching.
But, lack of high speed internet on mobile phones is somewhat proving as a hindrance for the smooth functioning of online classes particularly for remote areas where the slow speed internet is creating a mess for the students.
“The school going children are given work online which they have to do at their homes while many institutions of govt as well as private are also carrying on online classes but the children living in ruler areas like Basantgarh, Latti, Sudh Mahadev, Chenani, Ram Nagar and others areas facing problems in getting online education as the available 2G internet services are not proving sufficient for these even in these areas no proper mobile network available , a retired education department employee informed. “The internet services were snapped when Article 370 was scrapped but now public needs to be informed about updates on COVID-19 pandemic so there is no prudence in not restoring 4G internet services in J&K,” Hira Lal, a shopkeeper said.
We urge LG GC Murmu torestore 4G Internet service in J&K and then our children’s take proper benefits of online education system otherwise online education not possible in our areas due to lack of 4G internet.
