5/10/2020 9:39:50 PM
Early Times Report

Kishtwar May 10: The people living in villages falling under Panchayat Drubeel in block Mughal Maidan of Kishtwar District today demanded resumption of construction work on Thal-Kwath road since due to closure of this road which is under construction since last over a decade.
Speaking to Early Times the locals said that due to lockdown the residents of several villages of panchayat Drubeel are suffering due to non availability of the road added that they have to carry the patients several miles on shoulders to reach at nearest road side.
“In the age of modern science and technology people are forced to live in stone age. Due to non availability of the road they are facing various hardships as the officials of different departments didn’t wish to visit in their panchayat as they had to walk by foot several kilometers” said Thakur Puran Chand,President
Inderwal Development and Social Welfare Society.
He said that the education standard is also degrading day by day.
It is pertinent to mention here that the work for the said road stands alloted with appropriate funds under PWD & R&B sub division Chatroo, but the construction agency is hell bent to carry out the work where as in rural areas some relaxation has been given regarding the construction of the work.
the public of the area seeks the intervention of DDC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara and urged him to direct the concerned authorities to resume the work on the said road in the larger interest of the people residing in the area.
The people demanded that the removal of slips and blockades must be removed from the already constructed road stretch so that people of the area could not face difficulties as it will reduce the travelling by foot and can ensure around 10 KM shot in distance.
