Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: The state cabinet led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Monday rectified a mistake, committed by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, by revoking a transfer order issued on behest of former Industries Minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, following a controversial land deal worth several hundred lakhs of rupees. In one of the ,many misdeeds of the previous government, it had prematurely transferred a KAS officer, twice in three months and the last one was government order number 1091-GAD of 2014, issued on 21/10/2014, according to which Showkat Ahmed Zargar was posted as Director Industries, transferring Dr. Abdul Rashid to SSA. This government order, which is now revoked, was issued by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, on the behest Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, as the Director had exposed Kichloo's involvement in giving favour to an influential business house of Jammu, assuring them allotment of 34 Kanals of land in Bari Brahmana Industrial Area, after allegedly accepting a whooping amount. As Early Times had reported, Director Industries had rejected the proposal of Shivam Metal Shapers Industries Works, Adhishree Cold Storage, after he had found various loopholes into their proposals and sub-siding the pending list of 34 entrepreneurs. These business houses had not even applied formally for the land but the SIDCO had earmarked 34 Kanals of land in their favour, illegally, without their cases being forwarded by General Manager DIC Jammu, which was a procedural requirement. When the Director had raised objection and refused to follow dictates of the then Industries Minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, a transfer order was issued by GAD. Director Industries had challenged the government order 1091-GAD of 2014, issued on 21/10/2014, in the High Court, on the plea that only state cabinet has the power to issue transfers of Head of Department (HOD) not the Chief Minister, after which Court had stayed the transfer order. The case is still pending in the court but Mufti government by revoking transfer order, has proved decision of Omar government as wrong. |
