Three bovine smugglers arrested, vehicle seized | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Apr 9 : Police claimed to have foiled bovine smuggling attempts with the arrest of three bovine smugglers and rescued seven bovine animals during separate naka checking held in area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehmbal in two different cases. "Based on reliable information, a Police party of Police Post Tikri laid a surprise naka at National Highway (NH-1A) near Tikri in the wee hours and intercepted one Tata Mobile (JK02AW-9530) on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir, police sources said. They said, "During the thorough search of the Vehicle, three bovine animals were found loaded inside this vehicle and occupant of vehicle failed to produce any authority/document regarding transporting animals from one district to another.' The accused identified namely as Sanjeev Kumar s/o Madan Lal of Rathana R S Pura Jammu was arrested on the spot and bovine animals rescued while the vehicle used was also seized. In this connection, a case FIR No. 61/14 U/S 188/RPC stands registered at Police Station Rehmbal. In an another case Police party from Police Station Tikri, laid a surprise naka at National Highway and noticed two persons namely Farooq Ahmed s/o Mohd Yousif and Shabir ahmed s/o Rehmatullah both of Qazigund Anantnag carrying four bovine animals from Jammu towards Srinagar on foot. Police party when asked them to produced permission for carrying these animals but they failed to produce the same. Police party arrested both the smugglers on spot and bovine animals rescued. A case FIR No. 60/14 U/S 188/RPC stands registered at Police Station Rehmbal. |
