Vote for AAP is vote for development of Srinagar: Dr Raja 4/9/2014 10:45:49 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 9 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and candidate from Srinagar parliamentary seat Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat has said that if people from Srinagar city vote for AAP in the upcoming parliamentary elections , he will ensure that Srinagar would be transformed into a model city by protecting its heritage character. In a statement issued to press here Dr Muzaffar said that wrong policies of the National Conference lead Government has turned Srinagar city into a cesspool into which sans even basic facilities like drainage and power. Muzaffar said that since last couple of months, Srinagar city has been completely waterlogged at majority of places and the reason is that there is no proper drainage mechanism available in the city. From last six years billions of rupees have been pumped under various centrally sponsored schemes like Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNRUM) for the development of Srinagar city , but due to wrong policies , mismanagement and corruption the authorities could not utilize the said funds . "We could see drains being constructed from the last many years at every corner of the city , but one fails to understand why the city gets water logged even after mild showers" ? While castigating UPA lead Government at center, Muzaffar said that the Ministry of Urban Development , Government of India is also very much responsible for the mess in Srinagar as they have failed to send its expert teams to check whether the funds provided by them have been properly utilized or not in the city .
