Jammu, Apr 22: Thousands of devotees from different parts of the state and across the country today participated in an impressive 'Jagannath Rath Yatra' taken out in this winter capital of the state. The event was organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for the third consecutive year in the City of Temples. The Rath Yatra commenced from Kachi Chawni this afternoon and after covering all main bazaars and markets of this winter capital, it would culminate at Patta Borhi Road late evening, where 'Prasad' will be served to the devotees. Amid chants of 'Hare Krishna Hare Krishna', devotees enthusiastically participated in the 'Rath Yatra'. 'Rath Yatra' festival of chariots originates in Puri, Odisha and is the oldest known festival and has been celebrated for over thousands of years. Famous priests and religious preached led the yatra and blessed the devotees. |
