Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 22: Dr Farooq Abdullah has been exposed like never before by the former union home secretary RK Singh. Singh had said Farooq should seek details about the hanging of Afzal Guru firstly from his son Omar Abdullah, who is also the Chief Minister of the state. Singh has thus put the father-son duo in the dock by this clear assertion. Omar too had been trying to make a political capital out of the hanging of the Afzal Guru. He had even called Guru, a sahib, in the Assembly, which evoked strong opposition from the Jammu based parties. Farooq Abdullah was living in his make believe world that he would continue to tell lies about the hanging of Guru by blaming home secretary for it and absolve both the Centre and State of any role. He was hoping that this would make him gain votes from Kashmiris. However, he was stumped by the categorical assertion of RK Singh. Singh in an interview had said not Farooq should also get details from the prime minister, home minister and even UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Farooq now thus finds himself in a political quandary with polls due. His party is now saying that Farooq would file a case as against Singh. But the former home secretary, who had taken up cudgels with even home minister, had by bringing facts before them public exposed the duplicity of the National Conference leadership. According to media reports, appeared after the hanging of Guru, Omar had told the Centre that Guru should be hanged when there is chila-eo-kalam-the severest 40-day cold period- in the valley so that law and order should be contained. It clearly established that Omar was kept in loop much before the hanging and it's thus simply clear that even Dr Farooq was in knowledge of it. Not only that even the separatists leadership was in knowledge of it . According to sources, even Geelnai was aware of it and it's for this reason, he shifted to N Delhi, on the pretext of medical checkup, though the sources said he had gone deliberately to given an impression that he had no role in it and also could not give call for Kashmir bandh, if he had been there, which would have been forced on it, and would have found difficult to avoid. Former home secretary has thus brought the real face of Kashmiri leadership which has been exploiting the Kashmiri people for their political power. |
