Now Akber Lone flees from Sudnara village

BARAMULLA, Apr 22: Once again National Conference leader and Higher Education Minister, Mohammad Akbar Lone had to leave the party workers election meeting midway in a Bandipora village, as clashes erupted in the area against the Minister's visit today. The angry people later ransacked the house of a local National Conference worker. NC Leaders has been facing continuous stone-throwing attacks from every nook and corner of the district.
According to reports Lone had come to Sudnara, village just some 4 Kms from Hajin to attend an election campaign meeting with his party workers.
A local wishing anonymity said," security was beefed up in view of the Minister's visit since morning and the protesting people engaged them in ding dong battles for a long, however, Lone succeeded in reaching Sudnara".
Lone presided over a meeting of his party workers in the residence of a senior party worker, Ali Mohammad Sheikh. They added that Lone had to leave the meeting midway as the clashes intensified.
Eyewitness said that protesting mob later attacked the residence of Sheikh and ransacked it. Police sources, however, said that the protesters were chased away.
Police used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. They said that 2 persons were injured in the clashes and police arrested one of protesters" said eyewitness.
On April 20 locals of Dangerpora village of Sopore town in North Kashmir's Baramulla district forced the National Conference-Congress alliance workers to remove the stage from religious place after youth stoned on workers besides the stage on Sunday.
The National Conference-Congress alliance workers had to face public wrath, after locals disallowed the workers to set up the stage to campaign for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat and sitting Member Parliament, Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, who along with National Conference and Congress leaders was scheduled to address the workers meeting at the Eidgah in the village.
"Before the political programme the alliance workers had approached district administration for permission for said political meeting to be held at local school ground. However, they maintained that authorities denied permission for same and as such the NC-Congress workers tried to set up the stage at Eidgah, " said eyewitness.
Reports said, "As the workers of alliance parties were busy setting the stage, local youth got furious and attacked the stage with stones, damaged the decoration, thrashed some workers and removed the banners at stage. Following the public wrath, the workers were later forced to shift the political meeting at house of sitting National Conference MLA Sopore, Mohammad Ashraf Ganie,"
However On April 19 some stray incidents of stone pelting have been reported from Shahgund Hajan area of district, Bandipora. Where Mohd Akber Lone,education Minister was supposed to attend the workers meeting. In which two houses have suffered some damage because of the stone pelting. After which Police rushed to the spot and chased the miscreants.
Much to the embarrassment of the national conference leader and higher education minister, some angry youth forced him to leave Shahgund area in Hajin of district Bandipora without attending workers meeting on Saturday.
According to reports, Mohammad Akber lone was on the way of Shahgund to attend the workers meeting which was supposed to take place at the residence of NC worker Maqbool Ghasi.as the word about his arrival spread in the area, people assembled their on the roads and closed all their business establishments to observe the complete shutdown in the area.
