Jammu, Apr 22: An All India Art Exhibition, organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu, in collaboration with Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar, was inaugurated at Amritsar by S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, President, Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar, on 19th April, 2014. Laxami Kanta Chawla, ex cabinet minister, Punjab was the guest of honour on this occasion. Thirty art works of twenty four Artists from different states of the country are displayed in this exhibition. O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, Jammu, expressed his views that the centre is committed to promote art, culture and literature in the state and outside the state by organizing various programmes related to these activities. He highlighted the achievements of the JKCCA, Jammu. Speaking on this occasion S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, the Chief Guest said that it is a welcome step by JKCCA that the Centre has opted to organize All India Art Exhibition at IAFA, Amritsar. He appreciated the works displayed in the exhibition. J&KCCA in the past, too, has organized such events at different places in the country. The exhibition is dedicated in the memory of late Gobind Kaur, a well known sculptor and print maker of the J&K State and a student of Vidya Ratan Khajuria, a renowned sculptor of the state. Local citizens, intellectuals, artists and writers etc. as well as artists from different places of the country, were present on this occasion. |
