DC Jammu discusses arrangements for counting of votes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu who is also Returning Officer for 6-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency today convened a meeting of AROs and Nodal Officers of the constituency and discussed arrangements for counting of votes scheduled to be held on May 16. According to spokesperson, the Returning Officer in this meeting had a detailed discussion on various issues related to smooth conduct of counting of votes. The participants were briefed about the preparations and other important issues for ensuring hassle free counting of votes. Deputy Commissioner Jammu impressed upon the AROs and other concerned Nodal officers to ensure that all arrangements be made well in advance for conduct of counting of votes and discussed preparations related to infrastructure and security arrangements at Counting Centres. He asked the AROs to conduct training programme for the employees deployed for counting process. Sahu asked the AROs to ensure that the instructions of the Election Commission of India are implemented in letter and spirit. The meeting was attended by Director Accounts and Treasuries M A Malik, Joint Director Information Jammu Smita Sethi, ADDC Jammu G N Balwan and other officers. Pertinent to mention here the counting of votes shall be conducted at Government Polytechnic College, Jammu and MAM College Jammu. |
