Kichloo reviews Machail Yatra arrangements | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar , June 8 : Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Home, R&B. MED, Housing, HUDD, Tourism and Culture Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo after concluding two days visit remote Padder tehsil of District Kishtwar has said that inclusive development of rural areas of the state including Padder is the first priority of the government and added that he will leave no stone unturned to ensure development of this remote and backward region. As the annual Machail Yatra is about to start next month, the minister stressed for elaborate arrangements for the yatra and announced certain measures and development of yatra infrastructure for smooth conduct of Yatra. He said that Kishtwar District has vast potential of pilgrimage tourism which needs to be tapped by providing better facility to visiting pilgrims. He said that he had already approached the governor last year and supported the constitution of Mata Machail Shrine Board on the pattern of Vashnu Devi Shrine Board. He said that the road from Gulabgarh Bridge and Taxi stand will be blacktopped before the onset of Yatra and street lights will be installed on both sides of the road. He said that the work on 32 KM Gulabgard-Machail road will be expedited so that the people of the area get early road connectivity. "A face lift will be given to Gulabgarh and a welcome gate will be constructed. I have also issued directions to JKPCC to speed up the construction of new Gulabgarh Bridge across river Chenab" said Kichloo. |
