RDD JE's son too held, booked in alleged rape case

POONCH, Oct 8: A day after the arrest of a junior engineer (JE) of rural development department (RDD), Mendhar, for allegedly abducting a girl, police today took into custody his son too in the same case.
RDD JE Mohammad Latief was apprehended by police yesterday from his residence at Mendhar on the basis of a written complaint made by the girl's parents. In the complaint, they alleged that their daughter had been abducted by him.
His son Mohammad Raqib's arrest was made by police today on the basis of the girl's statement in Munsiff court, Mendhar, in which she alleged that she had been raped by him, police sources said.
The father-son duo had been booked by Mendhar police under FIR No 150 and sections 366 and 376 of RPC.
The victim is 21 years old while Raqib's age is 19 years. Latief, who hails from Salwa, Mendhar, was at present putting up in Mendhar town, sources said.
He is at present posted in the office of block development officer, Mendhar.
