Prof Soz visits flood affected areas in Sangrama Constituency

Srinagar, Oct 8: Member Parliement (MP), Former Union Minister and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Prof Saifuddin Soz today visited flood affected areas of Higam, Nallah Ningli (Tarzowa Veir), Haritar and Tarzowa in Sangrama Constituency and met various delegations of the flood victims who approised him with their difficulties. As per press statement issued today, Prof Soz assured them that they would receive proper compensation for the loss of property they have suffered. It said that during his visit to Tarzowa Veir (Lock on Ningli Nallah) Prof Soz spoke to Chief Engineer Irrigation, Kashmir Javed Jaffer and suggested to him to open the gates of Tarzowa Veir (Ningli Nallah), which has remained closed during the floods and naturally the entire area around got flooded.
Prof Soz asked him to get channel gates repaired and opened the same so that water level gets receded quickly. He explained the people's grievances to the Chief Engineer who promised him that repairs would be done very immediately.
Prof Soz addressed a largely attended public meeting at Haritar where flood sufferers of entire were present and they made a strong appeal for their rehabilitation. Prof Soz gave them a commitment from his own person and the Congress will remain steadfast with the people and help the Central Govt and State Govt to devise a long term policy for flood control and ensure that such a disaster does not occur in future. During his visit JKPCC Chief was accompanied with Mohd Muzaffar Parray-MLC, Vice President, Shoiab Nabi Lone General Secretary Ex MLA, Haji Ab Rashid Dar Ex MLA, Dr Sayeed Ahmad Secretary PCC, Imtiyaz Parray and Mohd Ashraf Parray Chairman Auqafi Islamia of the locality.
