Sitaram Yechury visits flood affected areas | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 8: Member Parliament and Polit Bureau member Com. Sitaram Yechury along with other visited flood and rain affected areas of Jammu region, to assess the losses. According to press release, Com. Sitaram Yechury along with his team also visited Government Medical College Jammu to meet personally with the injured persons due to Pakistan firing at international border. Sitaram Yechury M P visited Belicharana affected area of Jammu city at the bank of Tawi River and also visited villages of Pancheri block of Udhampur district. He visited the village Sadal of this area where bodies are still buried in the debris. While interacting with the victims, he assured that he will strongly raise their sufferings in coming session of Parliament and also with state government in Srinagar. He informed that MPs of his party has deposited Rs.10 Crore in the relief fund for the flood victims from their funds. He demanded that government of India should declare this problem as National- Disastrous, so that sufferers can get adequate assistance. He expressed sympathies with the people for suffering due to loss of life and property like houses, land, cattle, crops and fruits etc. He said that he has come to meet them simply as a human being not as a politician. |
