JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive, seizes Reharis | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in its campaign against the encroachers and illegal hawkers today seized 25 Rehris from the areas of Indira Chowk, KC Chowk, Maheshpura Chowk, BC Road and Amphalla Chowk. According to an official handout, JMC official found them stationary and running without Licenses causing obstructions in the free flow of vehicular traffic and hindrance to the pedestrians. Besides this, during the drive about vendors/hawkers were also removed who were selling goods by encroaching upon footpaths and pavements in these areas and ten truck loads of materials/goods seized during the drive were impounded in the Municipal Yard. The extensive anti encroachment drive was led by Chief Enforcement Officers and Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith Assistant Enforcement Officers and Enforcement Inspectors of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Besides this 11 Kg of Polythene carry bags were also seized and fine to the tune of Rs. 4100 have been realize from defaulters and general public also made aware about harmful effect of using Polythene carry bags, because polythene never decompose like other waste material. And due to un-decomposition it will effect on our surrounding environment. Jammu Municipal Corporation has once again appealed to the citizens of city not to use polythene carry bags failing which action under rule shall be initiated against them and also appeal all the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops / establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults. The Rehris owners have also been asked to keep their Reharies mobile as the stationary Reharies are source of obstruction for the free flow of vehicular traffic and also cause inconvenience to the pedestrians. |
