Feeling the heat, aggressor Pak asks India to respect ceasefire
India's adequate response
10/11/2014 10:39:22 PM

Neha
Jammu, Oct 11: Pakistan, which resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC and IB and deep inside the Indian territories in Jammu and Kashmir on October 1, has been shown its rightful place both by the Indian political establishment and our dedicated, committed and chivalrous armed forces and paramilitaries. The Pakistani political and military establishments had never imagined that New Delhi would respond swiftly, appropriately and adequately to not only defeat their evil game plan in Jammu and Kashmir, but would also target the permanent defences inside Pakistan. They took India for granted on the basis of their past experience. They had perhaps come to believe that the BJP-led NDA Government's response would not be different from that of the rudderless, directionless and weak Congress-led UPA Government and that it would bleed India, terrorize the innocent civilians living near the LoC and IB and play their nefarious games and go scot-free like in the past. In fact, the Pakistani coward Army and the so-called political establishment in Pakistan acted in the manner it acted for no less than nine days to test the Indian patience or to see how New Delhi would respond to their evil machination. It is clear that they had not understood the nature of the mandate the nation gave to the BJP-led NDA in May 2014, as also the nature of the new leadership that is at the helm in New Delhi since then.
It is not a secret that our leadership comprising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj took the Pakistani belligerence very seriously and too all the actions required to be taken to put the Pakistani political class and the Army of cowardly terrorists on the mat. Each one of them did all to not only make common cause with the Army and paramilitaries and gave them a freehand to deal with the situation, but also to re-assure the Indian nation that New Delhi would not let them down and protect and promote further the country's sovereign interests at whatever cost. And it was after decades and decades that the Indian Army and paramilitaries acted in the manner they wanted considering the Pakistani grave provocations. They enjoyed full power to give a befitting reply to the Pakistani Army and Rangers. The fact of the matter is that the Indian Army and paramilitaries not only avenged what the Pakistani army and Rangers did to India during the past nine days but also caused extensive damage deep inside Pakistan - an action that rattled both the Pakistani political establishment and the irresponsible Army and Rangers.
Such was the impact of the Indians' response to the Pakistani activities at the LoC and IB as well as firing on an unprecedented scale deep inside the India territories from Kathua to Akhnoor that the utterly undependable and highly weak Pakistan on Friday urged New Delhi to respect ceasefire in the larger interest of the region. At the same time, it said: "Pakistan's earnest desire for normalizing relations and defusing the situation at the LoC should not be seen as a sign of weakness".
It is important to note that Pakistan de-escalated tension at the LoC and IB, following the Indians' counteroffensive. On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it loud and clear that his Government would not tolerate any violation of ceasefire, saying it was not time for issuing statements; it was time to fire and teach Pakistan a lesson. Addressing an election rally at Amravati (Maharashtra), Modi, inter-alia, said: "Hamare jawano ne Pakistan ka muh band kar diya hai (Indian soldiers have give a befitting reply to Pakistan)…Our Government will give compensation to those people who had to leave their homes due to Pakistan firing….Pakistan has got a befitting lesson. They will not dare to repeat it again. Our jawans have shut their mouth. Whenever there is tension on the border, it is not politicians' speech but a soldier's trigger that speaks".
It is this and similar other inspiring statements made by other top Ministers in the Government as well as the manner in which the Indian Army and paramilitaries responded to the situation that have unnerved Pakistan and created a noble situation in India with even the affected people commending New Delhi's defence policy, as also its foreign policy and policy towards Jammu and Kashmir. Indeed, the nation is in safe hands. The sooner Pakistan realizes this ground reality, the better for it.
