Jammu, Oct 11: Prof Bhim Singh Chief Patron of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) has nominated a body to mark the Martyrs Day programmes that are scheduled from October 16- 18 at the site of Students Martyrs Memorial in front of GGM Science College, Jammu. According to spokesperson, Thakur Virender Singh, President of NPSU has been nominated as a Convenor while the other members of organizing committee include Kuldeep Sharma, Amir Khan, S Harjinder Singh, Amit Sangotra, Deepak Sharma, Usman Ganai, Amit Charak, Shubam Jasrotia, Sushmita, Asha Rani, Bhavish Manhas, Lovely Singh, Rocky Sharma. "The NPSU shall hold memorial prayer and pay tributes to the students' martyrs who were shot dead inside Science College by police bullets on 17 and 18 October, 1966 during the Congress rule in Jammu and Kashmir, he added. Pertinent to mention three students martyrs namely Martyr Brijmohan, Martyr Gulshan Honda, Martyr Subash Chandra were killed inside Science college on 17th October whereas S. Gurcharan Singh was killed by shooting straight in Rajinder Bazar, Jammu. . "The NPSU has appealed all the Panthers Party leaders, its MLAs to gather at 11.00 a.m. in the morning at the memorial site on 18th October, 2014 to pay tributes to the student martyrs, a NPSU spokesperson said |
