Lions Club Jammu (Royal) donates medicines for 'flood affected' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 11: In continuation of its series of projects to help the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lions Club Jammu (Royal) handed over medicines worth Rs 5.0 Lakh to the Ajeet K Sahu Deputy Commissioner Jammu who also hold the post of District Chairman, Red Cross Society during a function organized at Red Cross Bhawan here today. Spokesperson of Lions Club Jammu Royal, stated that in its endeavour to be the part of flood relief and rehabilitation process, the club provided these medicines comprising 15000 strips of anti-biotic and painkillers, anti diarrheal drugs and etc. He said, "This consignment will help in mitigating the sufferings of medically disabled flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir." Speaking on occasion, Ajeet K Sahu Deputy Commissioner Jammu appreciated the spirits and endevour of the club which came forward to help the flood affected people. Spokesperson also stated that the club had earlier distributed 500 blankets (double bed), dry ration and 1000 items of clothings to over 400 families of village Makwal of block Mandal Phallan in presence of Sukhnandan Chowdhary MLA. Prominent Lions Club members who were instrumental in organising this relief effort include Ajay Kapoor, Sanjay Nagpal, Yudhvir Sethi (Senior BJP leader), Anil Gupta and Sanjeev Soni. |
