Kissan Panchayat discusses farmers' problems living at Border | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 11: A meeting was today held under the chairmanship of Rajesh Sharma Bitu Chairman, Kissan Council at the office of J&K Advisory Board for Development of Kisan, Jammu to discuss problems faced by farmers due to ongoing unprovoked firing by Pakistan at international border. Speaking of the occasion Rajesh Sharma "Bitu" said that these are very difficult times for farmer community as they had to face one problem after another as severe flood and weather conditions were followed by heavy shelling from across the border which has badly affected farmer community living in these areas. He further said that recent flood and heavy rains and wind has totally destroyed present crop of paddy and maize along with teel and dal. The local "Basmati" has hugely suffered from rain and wind . The government should give compensation as "One time settlement" uniformly to all farmers affected instead of evaluating separate losses through local patwari & gardawar. Other's who spoke on the occasion were Haji Farooq katoch, Satish Bharti ,Subhash Tagotra , Dewan Khajuria, Surjeet Rampal, Haqumat Raj, Ch. Hans raj, Gopal Sharma and HemRaj. |
