10/11/2014 10:18:27 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 11: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) leader Harshdev Singh today expressed grave concern over the nine days of persistent heavy firing and mortar shelling from across the border resulting into large scale migrations, loss of precious lives and extensive damage caused to cattle, agriculture fields, houses and standing crops.
Singh said that its de-escalation on Friday was no reason for complacency in view of highly un-predictable Pakistan and its highly defiant Army which was hell bent upon destabilizing the borders. He said that Pakistan had always been playing hide and seek policy true to its wicked credentials. Calling upon the state government to accelerate relief measures in view of piquant situation where more than 15000 families all along the 192 Km IB had been uprooted, he said that affected families were highly critical of the inadequate govt. response in mitigating their woes and concerns. He said that majority of the uprooted families had refused to return in view of persistat threat looming large over the borders in view of highly unpredictable Pakistan. Flaying the callous approach of the govt. towards the miserable plight of the border residents, Mr. Singh called upon the govt. to honour its repeated commitments regarding provision of alternative sites for residential purposes.
He castigated the govt. for making false promises with the border people as no action had been taken by it for allotment of 5 marlas of land per family despite repeated announcements made during the last 12 years. Condemning Pakistan's highly violent posturing during the recent past, Harsh Dev Singh said that the intensity of ceasefire violations had increased gradually after the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited India during the oath taking ceremony of Modi's govt.
He urged upon the international community to take cognizance of Pakistan's violent posturing and large scale human rights violations on the Indian side of LOC and IB. Harsh Dev Singh said that Pakistan, on external desperation at UNGA and internal political instability within, wants an alibi to engage its restless messes. He said that Pakistan wants to pull back India awed by India's global strides in multifarious fields.
Expressing serious concern over unabated and continued ceasefire violations, he said that it amply demonstrated Pakistan's frustration due to no world support and not even an affirmative semblance from the US. He said targeting of civilian areas was highly shameful which needed worldwide condemnation. He said that there were further intelligence inputs which revealed that Pakistan was pushing in indoctrinated traitors, hired , lured and trained in the ISI run camps in PoJK.
Strongly condemning Pakistani misadventures, Harsh Dev Singh said that India needs to tread carefully and not fall in the Pakistani trap and salvage them. He said that the India govt. has got to ensure safety of our border population giving at the same time a mouthful to violent posturing Pakistan. He further called upon the Union and State govt. to provide a permanent solution for the rehabilitation of border migrants who are often displaced due to frequent border shelling. He called for early construction of shelters for border population in safer zones.
