Jammu police busts gang of robbers, five held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7: Police today claimed to have busted a gang of robbers active in Jammu with the arrest of five persons who were involved in various criminal activities including looting of Rs 75,000 cash from a brick kiln owner on Wednesday evening. Police also have recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. "On their disclosure police also worked out robbery and theft cases took place in Gandhi Nagar, Miran Sahib and R.S Pura areas, police said. Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Uttam Chand while briefing media persons today evening said that police started investigation after following complain from one Darshan Kumar s/o Bishamber Dass of Gandhi Nagar (Owner of Brick Kiln at Nari) reported in P/S Miran Sahib stated that while returning from Nari area towards Jammu in his Maruti Car bearing Regd. No. JK02AM-5017 alongwith his driver they were intercepted by three masked miscreants who were riding on a black colour motorcycle. Quoting complainant, SSP Jammu stated that armed with fire arms and sharp edged weapons the miscreants robbed him at gun point at Nari-Kullian road and decamped with an amount of Rs 75,000/- from his vehicle. "Upon this complaint, Police registered a case FIR No. 125/2014 U/S 392/34/RPC, 3/25, 4/25 A.Act was registered in P/S Miran Sahib and investigation taken up, he added. He said, "During the course of investigation, Miran Sahib Police fanned in different areas for the arrest of the accused involved in this sensational case and after hectic efforts and on reasonable suspicion some suspects were rounded up from different locations and police identified main accused namely as Haqiqat Singh alias Ladda s/o Suraj Singh of Kullian, Ashok Kumar s/o Mool Raj of Kirpind,Satish Kumar alias Bindu s/o Charan Dass r/o Miran Sahib, Sachinder Singh alias Sehindi s/o Suchat Singh r/o Kotli Shah Doula and Rash Paul Singh alias Kella s/o Chuni Lal r/o Gagian." SSP Jammu further added that during their sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the instant case including other incidents of robbery cases of district Jammu, which included a case registered at P/S R S Pura against FIR No. 76/2014 U/S 392/34/RPC, 3/25, 4/25 A .Act), P/S Miran Sahib( Case FIR No. 82/2014 U/S 307/382/34/RPC, 3/25,4/25 A.Act, Case FIR No. 125/2014 U/S 341/323/382/34/RPC, 3/25, 4/25 A.Act) and P/S Gandhi Nagar( Case FIR No. 35/2014 U/S 307/392/34/RPC, 3/25 A.Act, Case FIR No. 202/2014 U/S 392/4/RPC, 3/25 A.Act. Police official said that police also have recovered semi automatic pistol with two magazines USA Made 7.65MM, Desi Katta 8 MM = 02 MM, Desi Katta 12-Bore, 10 Cartridges 7.6MM,5 Cartridges 8MM,2 Tokas, Bike Pulsar (Black -Regd No JK02AV-7278), Black Mask, 01 Bucket and 01 Pipe Exhaust pipe of water from the possession of accused. Further, investigation in the case is on, said SSP Jammu, while adding, "the said gang was active from quite some time, and with the arrest of the main culprits of the gang, a great success has been achieved with this breakthrough and Jammu Police is able to solve many such cases. The case has been worked out by a team led by SP Hqrs. Jammu comprising SDPO R.S.Pura & SHO P/S Miran Sahib under the direct supervision of SSP Jammu. |
