Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 7: Pakistan is making desperate attempts to trigger unrest in Kashmir ahead of the Assembly elections. The recent statement of the Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam that Kashmiri separatists are "freedom fighters" indicates that the neighboring country wants to entice its stooges sitting in Kashmir to do something big ahead of the Assembly elections.
It looks like everyone in Pakistan is following the advice of the ousted President of the country General Parvez Musharraf . The former President last month in an interview to a private news channel had suggested that Pakistan should provoke its agents in Kashmir to trigger unrest in the strife torn region.
The Pakistan Foreign office spokesperson by calling Kashmiri separatists "freedom fighters" has drawn a redline between both the countries. It has rejected the hand of friendship extended by India and has sided with the separatists, who slowly have become irrelevant in Jammu and Kashmir. Strike calls given by them hardly evoke any response as people seem least interested in them and their activities.
Security Forces increasing the vigil on the borders and the Line of Control have frustrated Pakistan and its Army as they are unable to push militants from the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) into this side. All the attempts of the neighboring country to disrupt normal life in the Valley have not yielded any results. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, paramilitary forces and the Army are working in close coordination across Kashmir and they are not allowing militants to regroup and strike at their will. Pakistan has almost lost the proxy war which it launched in JK 22-years ago. The people who had crossed over to PoK for the arms training too have given up as they have returned with their families and want Government of India to workout a rehabilitation plan for them. It seems Pakistan has lost all its sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir as masses have realized that they have been misled during all these years and gun culture has ruined the very santity of this land.
After losing on all the fronts, Pakistan wants it's so called freedom fighters to wake up and do something for them as time has come for them (separatists) to return the favours which they have been taking in cash and kind all these years by selling dreams. However, most of the so-called "freedom fighters" are cooling their heels behind the bars and there is no possibility of them being released before Assembly elections are over.
History stands testimony to the fact that till date Pakistan has always tried to disrupt the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir as the participation of the people in elections negates its propaganda and its theories about JK being an issue, which needs to be resolved.
Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam on Thursday had made a veiled appeal to so called Hurriyat leaders to act ahead of polls by saying, "Kashmiris (Hurriyat) are not Indian separatists. They are freedom fighters."
The new foreign policy of the Narendra Modi led Government has frustrated Pakistan as the new Government has made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and the people preaching secessionism won't be tolerated. Pakistan had invested a lot on a few men in Kashmir and hoped that they can forever exploit the innocent people and preach secessionism but the approach of the Modi led Government has turned the table on Pakistan and its stooges in Jammu and Kashmir. So it hardly makes a difference what Pakistan calls secessionist elements
