Court denies bail in kidnapping, rape case | | | Jammu, Nov 7: Fast Track Court presiding officer Y P Kotwal has rejected the bail application of an accused in alleged rape and kidnapping case. According to police case, on September 6, 2013 one Ajay with whom prosecutrix was having a love affair sent a SIM card for her through Yash Pal. At the time of handing over the SIM card to her, Yash Pal told her that as Ajay had also come, she should meet him. He also allegedly told the girl that he would arrange their marriage. Following assurance from him about the marriage, she accompanied him to his house where the accused allegedly raped her. On this, police registered a case and after completion of investigation challan was presented. Kotwal, after hearing both the sides, observed that sexual violence apart from being a dehumanizing act is an unlawful intrusion on the right of privacy and sanctity of female and a rapist not only causes physical injuries but more indelibly leaves a scar on the most cherished possession of a woman i.e. her dignity, honour, reputation and not the least her chastity. The court observed that rape is not only a crime against the person of women and female but is a crime against society. With these observations, the court rejected the bail application. (JNF) |
