Dogri Sanstha organizes Sham-e-Gazal | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7: Dogri Sanstha organized 'Sham-e-Gazal', a musical evening of Dogri gazals based on the poetry written by noted Dogri poet and playwright Rattan Doshi in its monthly series of music programmes where the poetry of one particular poet is highlighted through music. According to press release, five singers of young generation namely Rahul Kumar, Shyam Manyal, Apoorva Jamwal, Verindera Kapadia and Gursharan Kour, presented the Ghalzals and mesmerized the audience with their melodic voice. The Ghazals were composed by Sham Sajan, eminent singer and composer of national acclaim in classical Ragas like Bhopali Puria Dhanesh, Vairagi Bhairav Aasavari and Pilu. The Sham-e-Ghazal culminated with a Ghazal presented by Sham Sajan. The magic of today's Shame-Ghazal composed by was so ravishing that audience applauded the singers on every couplet. The singers were accompanied on Mandolin by Sanjay Kumar Pashi and on Tabla by Karan Malhotra. The highlight of the program was recitation of his gazals by Rattan Doshi. In his welcome address Chhatrapal, President Dogri Sanstha said that Ghazals composed on Ragas, when presented in live programme, give immense pleasure to listeners and create a blissful atmosphere. Such presentations not only invigorate the human mind but also popularize poetry. "Ghazal is a favorite genre of poetry in Dogri and many poets like Ved Pal 'Deep', Shiv Ram 'Deep' and Virendra Kesar have given new height and depth to Ghazal, he said. |
