3 drug peddlers held, 2144

Jammu/Kathua, Nov 7: In continuation of its drive launched against the drug peddlers, police today arrested three drug peddlers and seized 2144 banned intoxicant capsules besides 300 corex bottles from their possession during separate raids in Kathua and Jammu respectively.
Police spokesperson said, "On specific information party led by SHO Kathua under the supervision of SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar raised a naka at Indra Colony and intercepted a person driving scooty bearing registration number JK08D-4463. "During the search of the said Scooty, Police recovered 2000 capsules with trade name 'Spas Proxivan' from scooty driver's possession, police spokesperson said adding the accused identified as Roshan Kumar of W-3. Kathua was arrested on the spot and the contraband was also seized.'
"A case against FIR No. 393/2014 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Kathua, police said.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 300 bottles of corex and 144 Spas Proxivan Capsules from their possession during a raid in locality falling under Gangyal Police Station of Jammu .
Police have identified the accused duo namely as Abid Hussain Sofi of Noor Bagh, Sopore and Wasim Raza of Shallpura, Sopore.
"On specific information party led by ASI Mohd Din under the supervision of Inspector Ajay Jamwal and SDPO South Harjeet Singh raised a naka at Kunjwani near Peer Baba NHW Jammu, and intercepted two pedestrians for their suspicious movements, police said.
"During frisking of the duo, police team recovered 300 bottles of Corex (strictly prescription drug) and 144 intoxicant capsules trade name Spas Proxivan from their possession, police added.
"The duo was arrested on the spot while the drugs were seized on the spot, police said adding, "a case under FIR No. 152/2014 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation is on.
