JAMMU, Nov 13: Two sides of J&K Police XI from group-A and group-B topper, KC Sports Club today qualified for the next knock-out round of semifinals in the ongoing IIIrd Eid-Diwali Milan Twenty20 Cricket Cup at Gulshan Ground, here today. Earlier, in the last league match, J&K Police XI trounced Aircel Cricket Club by a big margin of 71 runs. Batting first, JKP set a target of 177 runs for the loss of five wickets, with skipper Rajesh Gill making highest 53 runs. Pankaj Singh (31), Vishwajeet (28) and Jatin (27) were other the main contributors to the score. Sunil Sambyal and Rakesh took two wickets each for Aircel XI. In reply, Aircel XI could not chase the target and the whole side bundled out for 106 runs in 19 overs. Balbir Singh and Sunil Sambyal remained highest scorers with 46 and 30 runs in their respective accounts. Rajesh Gill, Shamsher Singh, Rompy and Jatin shared two wickets each while Vishwajeet and Pankaj took apiece each. Rajesh Gill named man of the match for his all round performance. Meanwhile, KC Sports Club registered a comfortable five wickets win against RCC Srinagar. Earlier, batting first, RCC made 148 runs in 18 overs game for eight wickets. Sahil Sharma (37), Satish (24) and Rohit (16) were main scorers. Abhishant and Abhishek took three wickets each from KC Sports while Noushad took two and Vivek one wicket. Later, KC Sports Club achieved the target in 15.4 overs losing five wickets. Amritpal played fine innings of 74 runs while Romy and Ateev Sainy contributed 29 and 18 runs respectively. Dilbag Singh bagged three and Rohit one wicket from RCC Srinagar. Amritpal declared man of the match. In another match of the day, the start studded side of Simula Cricket Club suffered a six wickets defeat in the hands of Rehari Cricket Club (RCC). Batting first, Simula scored 106 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing all their wickets. Anshuman (25), Atul (22) and Dhruv Mahajan (11) were the batsmen who scored in double figure. Kaka took three wickets while Rohit, Monu and Anil shared two each from RCC. Batting second, RCC achieved the target losing only four wickets that too sparing 6.2 overs of their innings. Ehatasham scored unbeaten 58 runs while Shahbaj Ali and Manish Dogra added 24 and 20 runs respectively. Somay Jain took two wickets from Simula. Druv and Mohit shared a wicket each. Ehatsham declared man of the match. Today's matches were officiated by the technical penal including Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf, Balwan, Amandeep and Yogesh.
