Jammu, Nov 13: Known for rhetoric and eloquent speeches, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has failed to fill the staff in department of Science and technology which is currently manned by four employees. Sources informed Early Times that on one hand state government with an aim to promote and implement projects at meeting of the energy requirements of remote and un-electrified areas of the state by harnessing New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) such as solar, wind, biomass and small hydro but astoundingly at other, four employees run the department district offices and catering their services in far- flung districts including Doda, Ramban and Kisthwar. He further said that the sanction strength in each district was one Assistant Engineer (District Officer), one Junior Engineer of Civil and Electrical, Four Foreman for field, Computer Assistant, Senior Assistant/ Storekeeper, two numbers of Technical Assistant, Driver and other Class IV employees but presently the district office Doda has running with a district officer and other three field officer, and all others posts are laying vacant since the establish of office. ”The Solar Power Plants were established by government in various areas of district but they were running in few months, after they defunct, due to shortage of staff in district office nobody care that projects”, sources said. A doctor pleading anonymity said that the projects was sanction by Union Government to meet the requirement of power during curtailment hours in health institutions, but most of them were not installed completely and few become defunct within a period of six months of its inauguration. He further said that inspite of repeated communication to concerned department none of the official had bothered to install or to repair the same.Criticizing state government he said that the Solar Power Plants were established by government in various areas of district but they were running in few months, after that they defunct, due to shortage of staff nobody care that projects. However, Chief Executive Officer Gulzar Hussain, he didn’t respond even repeated phone calls made by this journo. |
