JAMMU, Nov 13 : On the eve of World Diabetes Day, Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu organized a free Diabetes Awareness Camp at Canal Road here today. The camp was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu (Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region) Shantmanu. He lauded the efforts of Red Cross for organizing medical camps. He also threw light on remedies to eradicate Diabetes. Free blood sugar detection tests of morning walkers were conducted on the spot by a team of Red Cross Lab. Technicians under the supervision of Dr Vikas Chandel and Dr. Rohini Bhan, Medical Officer Red Cross Dispensary. More than 160 tests were conducted and the general public particularly Morning Walkers were made aware regarding Diabetes and its preventive measures, as the menace of diabetes is fastly gripping the people in large. The camp was organized under the supervision of. Secretary , Indian Red Cross Society, Region R.C.Puri. The prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Navneet Kour, Executive Member of Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu, Sadiq Nargal, President, Morning Walkers Association, Canal Road, Jammu and Gurpreet Singh from Cipla Pharmaceutical Ltd.
