Jammu, Nov 13: Police today arrested seven gamblers and recovered Rs 6310 in separate incidents at Bus stand and Domana areas.
"On specific information party led by Inspector Bushan Singh Manhas under the supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand raided a place at Trikuta Complex at Bus Stand and arrested three gamblers along with Rs 4550/- and playing cards, police said.
Police have identified the accused as Davinder Singh of Akhnoor, Vikas Sharma of Bhagwati Nagar and Aman Singh of Smailpur Akhnoor.
Meanwhile, in a similar raid Domana police arrested four gamblers from Muthi along with Rs 1760/-.
The arrest was made by SHO Domana under the supervision of SDPO DOmana Sanjay Parihar and during questioning the gamblers have been identified as Dina Nath, Mohinder Kumar, Vijay Dass, Girja Shanker all residents of Chhattisgarh and presently at Muthi.
Police said that all the gamblers have been booked under 13 Gambling Act at respective police stations.
