Jammu, Nov 13: A team of Special Operation Group (SOG) today arrested a drug peddler and recovered around 140 kg of poppy straw from his possession at Domana.
"The arrested has been identified namely as Satnam Singh, police sources said.
Police sources said, "Acting on specific information about narcotics smuggling, a team of SOG raised a special naka at Domana and intercepted a truck driven by one Satnam Singh. "On being intercepted the truck driver showed some abnormal behavior which further substantiated the suspicion of police team, sources said.
They said claimed that team put the truck to thorough checking and during serach of vehicle police recovered around 140 kg poppy straw from the truck. "The accused was arrested on spot and vehicle was also seized, police sources said.
Thereafter, the accused along with seized poppy straw and vehicle was handed over to concerned Domana Police. |
