New Year Greetings-2015 Brochure' released by SHEER | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: Society Health Environment Education Research (SHEER) on Sunday released 'New Year Greetings-2015 Brochure' to promote daughters at par with sons. Speaking on the occasion, President Dr. Kuldeep Singh advocated to end discrimination with daughters still prevalent in the society. With the aimed of to promote united Jammu and Kashmir first and healthy heritage. He said that SHEER had conceived a future plan of submitting a visionary document before forth coming government to approve-implement present National Service Scheme (NSS) and State Service Scheme (SSS) in a graded manner as a part of State curriculum under cover of promoting social-environmental-constitutional health and freedom from enemies of humanity. He also reiterated a message from Prof. Bhim Singh contained in this Greetings Brochure that reads as- "Daughters may overgrow your lap. But they never overgrow your heart". While, Head Brahma Kumari Ashram of state, Rajyogni BK Sudershan reminded the audience with innate qualities gifted to women such as tolerance, patience, sacrifice, unconditional care, motherhood that has made possible the survival of mankind since the dawn of human civilization. She said that it was heartening when find today's young girls and women scaling heights of excellence in every field that were earlier considered to be male bastions. She expressed that current freedom and equality being enjoyed by women was hard earned by the sacrifices of some women known as feminists who from time to time have stood up against the unjust limitations and bondages imposed by a male dominated system. "Still a lot is to be done against various crimes against women ranging from infanticide to abduction, rape, murder dowry, sex determination, sexual harassment, AIDS and others. And it is possible only when women start empowering them with innate virtues hidden under cover of meditation," he stated, adding concluded with remarks praising Dr. Singh's efforts to promote daughters at par with sons. Moreover, secretary of press club Jammu, Sohail Kazmi reiterated his quote contained in New Year Brochure that reads as- "Daughters are future mothers-Love and respect them like sons or perish". He expressed concern over the atrocities against female kids-teenagers and women and stressed the speedy trial under special courts and exemplary punishments to the offenders restoring the confidence of women folk to live honorable and dignified life. Prof. HK Kapur and Dr. Amrita Singh, a young medico from GMC Jammu praised the present women scaling height in every field but simultaneously expressed concern when find them in news reporting their indulgence in vices of various kinds. They elaborated the content of brochure advocating the end to all kinds of discrimination with girl child. "Those who blame females for not delivering male child are ignorant. They need to be educated with the words that father is responsible for determining the sex of child and not mothers," they said.
