'Talk to State Government': Rajnath cuts separatists to size | | | Jammu, May 28: Expressing it readiness to anyone from Kashmir, ever since it assumed power, the Modi government has asked the separatists to hold talks with the State government first. Narendra Modi headed BJP government has decided not to hold any talks with the separatists. It was clearly spelt out by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh when he said that if separatists are interested in holding talks, they should first engage with the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. The Home Minister with this statement has now reduced the presumed problem of the Jammu and Kashmir, which the separatists have been trying to project as a dispute, to purely local level problem, which needs to be first solved by the state government. The home minister had also said that the home ministry's role will come only if its required. "The statement by the Rajnath Singh is in line with the hardened position of the Modi government that it doesn't want to give any political importance to the separatists, by inviting them to hold talks," said a senior official. The Modi government has sources said made it clear that the elected government is the real representative of the jammu and Kashmir . It doesn't want to give any kind of signal that even in the state there is a section that still believes that J&K is still an unresolved problem so by holding talks with them, it will give currency to it. The Modi government has also made it clear to the Pakistan that it will not take lightly its meddling in the affairs of the Jammu and Kashmir, thus clearly implying that it will also not like the Pakistan to even give any kind of support to the separatists. "The Home Minister by stating that Pakistan shouldn't meddle in the affairs of the country for its own welfare has another significant warning. It has sent the signal that if Pakistan will try to foment trouble by supporting separatists in the J&K, then there are many problems in the Pakistan, which can be exploited and would not do any good to the Pakistan which is already facing many internal problems," said the official. |
