Interstate vehicle lifter gang busted, two held, 10 vehicles recovered | | | Early Times Report
Samba, May 28: Samba police toady claimed to have busted an interstate gang of vehicle lifters with the arrest of two accused and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles from their possession. "The accused persons have been identified namely as Vikram Mehra resident of Sarore Aadda and Traiq Hussain resident of Purmandal Morh Bari Brahmana of district Samba, police spokesperson said. Police said, "following one complaint from one Varinder Kumar s/o Kasturi Lal of Ratnu Chak lodged with Police Station Samba that his motorcycle has been stolen by some miscreants during his visit to Industrial Growth Centre (IGC), SIDCO Samba, accordingly a case FIR No. 90/2015 u/s 379 RPC P/S Samba was registered. Police search of stolen vehicle was taken up and a team led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba under the supervision of Joginder Singh, SSP, Samba and Varinder Singh, DySP HQ, Samba fanned out their sources. "During investigation, police spokesperson said, "SI Khalil Ahmed, I/C PP SIDCO, Samba while nakaa checking on May 23, found the vehicle having similar description as of stolen vehicle driven by above named accused persons." "Police team intercepted the duo and apprehended them on spot, police said, and added, "during sustained interrogation the duo broke down and confessed their crime. "On their disclosures the police recovered 10 stolen motorcycles, police said adding, "the modus operandi of accused persons was to lift vehicle especially motorcycles from outside the marriage halls and banks thereafter selling the stolen vehicles in others areas or district and even outside the state. Police spokesperson said that gang was operating in Gangyal, Greater Kailash Jammu and Pathankot areas and added that more recovery on the disclosure of the accused cannot be ruled out. |
