Jammu, Jan 31: The Leader of opposition and President of Gandhi Global Family, Ghulam Nabi Azad organized an interaction with UN delegation headed by Director of UNIC Kiran Mehra Kerpelman. The ceremony was held at his residence in New Delhi, in the presence of dignitaries including Rajiv Chandran, CIO, UNIC, Vice President of Gandhi Global Family, Padmashri S. P. Varma, Sanjana Subramanian, Admin, UNIC and Ankush, Representative, De Montfort University. The Director praised the immense work of GGF in the field of social welfare and described her association with GGF as 'highly fortunate'. The great influential Gandhian figure, the host Ghulam Nabi Azad himself congratulated and applauded the Director of UNIC for her enthusiasm in the field of social welfare and the staunch support provided by her organization to GGF. He also highlighted his long association with GGF and specifically mentioned the highly successful Gandhi Mandela Cricket Tournament jointly organized by UN & GGF in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He went on to emphasize upon the need of promoting and propagating United Nations Charter and Mahatma Gandhi's ideology of peace and non-violence, especially in the conflict ridden regions of the world. Finally, on high note, GGF expressed its overwhelming gratitude towards the pillar like support of the Director of UNIC without which achieving the present success would have been next to impossible. In order to make moments the preserved memories, UNIC Director exchanged souvenirs with GGF President Ghulam Nabi Azad. |
