Axe corrupt officials: Governor tells CS | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad
Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 31: Reiterating his resolve to curb the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir the Governor, N N Vohra, has warned that any official found involved in corrupt practices would be dealt with sternly. According to the official sources the Governor N N Vohra held a meeting with Chief secretary B. R Sharma at Raj Bhawan and directed him to initiate action against those indulging in the corrupt practices. Sources said the meeting was convened to send a clear message to the top officials to shun corrupt practices and ensure clean transparent working in their respective departments. "Senior officials have been told to keep a check on junior officials and to ensure that there is no corruption in their departments. We will terminate those found involved in corrupt practices. It is one thing we will not tolerate," sources quoted Governor Vohra as having said during the meeting. Governor, according to the sources, also issued directions to keep a vigil on public service delivery system to ensure its functioning in responsive and transparent manner besides encouraging people to come forward to report every case of dishonest functioning by the public servants. Sources also said the Governor asked Chief Secretary to direct all the HoDs of all departments to personally monitor the grievance resolution process, to ensure timely and effective resolution. Meanwhile sources said that Governor Vohra has sought separate list of those officers, who are habitual of corrupt practices and are not ready to mend their ways besides the list of deadwood in the Government departments. "Governor has asked the top officials to urgently prepare department-wise lists of corrupt officials," sources added. |
