Early Times Report

Vijaypur, Jan 30: Though the Vijaypur Municipal Committee has taken steps to remove encroachments from the pavements in the city, but traders continue to put their merchandise on the footpaths, thereby creating problems for residents and commuters alike.
According to press release, in most of the areas including BDO block market, railway road, Ramgarh road and Main chowk shopkeepers have encroached upon footpaths. This gives an ugly look to markets and creates problem for drivers also. Not only the encroachments on footpaths, but also parking on road by people has further reduced space in the markets.
"Encroachment is a big issue, but nobody is bothered to tackle it. Roads are covered by either material or private vehicles. Vehicles are being parked on the main roads," said a local resident.
"The encroachment on roads has created traffic chaos in every nook and corner of the city. The authorities should take concrete steps to remove encroachment from town", a shopkeeper said.
