Jammu, Jan 31: Bawa Kailakh Dev Parbandhak Committee today celebrated birth anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir's first Param Vir Chakra Awardee martyr Major Som Nath Sharma, who had made supreme sacrifice while defending Kashmir from invading Pakistani tribal and Army in 1947. In this connection a function was organized at Raipur Domana where rich tributes were paid to the Major Som Nath Sharma by Vishwa Hindu Parishad State general secretary Shakti Dutt Sharma. On this occasion, threw light on life of Major Som Nath sharma and supreme sacrifice made by him in war with Pakistani. Bawa Kailakh Parbandhak Committee president, Ram Pal Seth appealed to Governor N N vohra to pay homage to the great personality by rechristening Jammu airport by the name of Major Som Nath sharma. Prominent and local leaders including Dr C M Raina, Sunil Dutt, Pt Dev Dutt Shastri, Rajatsoodan, Sahil Seth and other were also attended the function. |
